1. Menstrual Period – Days 1-3 of menstruation
Herbal Treatment: Yang Xue Tiao Jing Tang (Yang Xue Tiao Jing decoction)
Ingredients: Shu Di Huang, Dang Gui, Chi Shao, Chuan Xiong, Yi Mu Cao, Dan Shen, E Zhu, Chuan Niu Xi, Ze Lan, Dang Shen
Usage: Take one dose per day for 3 days from beginning of menstruation.
(1) If the amount of menstruation is small, San Leng, Ji Xue Teng can be added;
(2) Excessive menstrual blood or Qi deficiency: Medicine can be added to tonify qi and invigorate blood;
(3) Blood stasis: Leeches and San Qi powder can be added.
2. Post-menstrual period—from the 4th day of menstruation to mature of follicle
Herbal Treatment: Yu Bao Tang(Yu Bao Decoction)
Ingredients: Tu Si Zi, Gou Qi Zi, Nu Zhen Zi, Zhi Shou Wu, Dang Gui, Shu Di, Huang Jing, Dang Shen, Chuan Duan, Huai Niu Xi, Yi Mu Cao
Usage: Start taking when the following conditions occur – Stop taking if the basic body temperature (BBT) rises.
(1) The vagina has a transparent, stringy leucorrhea;
(2) When the ovulation test strip shows that LH peak appears;
(3) The diameter of the follicle detected by ultrasound is 1.8cm-2.0cm;
(4) Cervical mucus displays leaflike crystals (+++).
3. Intermenstrual period – follicles mature to release
Herbal Treatment: Cu Pai Luan Tang (Cu Pai Luan Decoction-Ovulation induction decoction)
Ingredients: Dang Gui, Dang Shen, Qiang Huo, Tu Si Zi, Dang Shen, Gou Qi Zi, Chuan Duan, He Shou Wu, Yi Mu Cao, Huai Niu Xi
Usage: Start taking when the following conditions occur – Stop taking if the basic body temperature(BBT) rises.

Herbal Treatment: Liang Gu Tang (Lianggu Decoction)
Ingredients: Shu Di Huang, Fu Pen Zi, Gou Qi Zi, Tu Si Zi, Shan Yao, He Shou Wu, Dang Gui, Chuan Duan, Suo Yang, Ba Ji Tian, Huai Niu Xi
Usage: When BBT elevates – Menstruation comes
Through clinical observation, the whole formula functionally warms the spleen and kidney, nourishes qi and nourishes blood, and effectively improves the function of the corpus luteum.
